NEWBORN INFORMATION
One of Jennifer's favorite little subjects to photograph are newborn babies. After waiting many years for a baby of her own, she understands how special each little new life is and how fleeting this time is. Jennifer has a gift for capturing this special time in your families' life and documenting your new relationship with your precious baby and those little features that you were too tired to remember.
When is the best time to photograph my newborn baby?
Jennifer prefers to photograph newborns within the first two weeks of life with days 6-10 being the ideal age if possible. It becomes much harder to capture the adorable curled up sleepy baby poses after this time, as well as baby acne and colic tend to start after the first couple weeks of life.
When should I schedule my newborn session?
It is best to contact Jennifer before you deliver to guarantee availability, she will discuss the best date to pencil in for your session, and if your little one decides to make an unpredicted arrival she will work with you to adjust your session date accordingly. If you decide after you give birth that you would like to schedule a session, please contact Jennifer and she will do her best to work you into her schedule.
What can I expect at my newborn session?
Your session will be casual and relaxed. Jennifer takes her lead from the baby allowing plenty of time for feedings and comforting when needed. You will not feel rushed and although most sessions last approximately 3 hours, Jennifer will take the necessary time needed to ensure you have a gallery full of beautiful images of your newborn baby and your new family.
Where will my newborn session take place?
Jennifer is available for in home or studio sessions. Most clients choose to have Jennifer photograph their little one in her private studio which is located just east of Tampa, however she is more than happy to travel to your home and photograph your new baby. Please keep in mind Jennifer's availability is limited, so please contact her as soon as possible to schedule your newborn session, especially if you wish for her to travel to your home.
What if my baby is older than two weeks old, should I just wait until he/she is 6 months?
Jennifer recommends photographing your baby as soon after birth if possible, even if it is after the two week mark. Your baby changes daily within the first year of life, so she encourages all new parents to bring their baby in asap, and she can still create a beautiful gallery of images, capturing the bond you have with your little one, although some of the newborn poses may not be possible.
